We have just uploaded Wave Spring – an experiment in which a system of plywood sheets behaves as a wave spring to create a basic principle for a furniture system.
We are pleased to let you know that AION will be featured in a forthcoming book entitled “Unplugged Italy”, edited by Gennaro Postiglione and published by LetteraVentidue Edizioni.
The publication features eight young Italian studios, all participants of “Unplugged Italy” conference series which took place in Oslo this year. See Abitare Online for more information about this event.
The book launch is estimated for March 2010.

We would like to announce that the origami cardboard pavilion will be soon erected in the courtyard of Palazzo Impellizzeri and the opening evening will take place on the 26th of June at 6.30 p.m.
The project is a collaboration between the 2nd-year Design Studio run by prof. Luigi Alini at the Catania Faculty of Architecture in Siracusa, studio AION and the International Paper company from Catania.

We are happy to announce that AION will give a lecture entitled “Parasites” at the Faculty of Architecutre, University of Catania as part of the “In Ombra” conference series meant to promote young architects active in Sicily. The event will take place on the 11^th of June at Palazzo Impellizzeri in Siracusa.

We are happy to announce that AION is part of Unplugged Italy, Italian Architecture in Oslo – an exhibition and a series of lectures aimed to promote young Italian architecture abroad.
The event is organised by the Italian Cultural Institute in Oslo together with: The National Museum of Art Architecture and Design, The Oslo School of Architecture and Design and DPA Politecnico di Milano. The exhibition is hosted by the Oslo School of Architecture and will remain open till Sunday, the 26th of April.
Both the lecture and the exhibition present the following AION projects: Artificial Biotic Corridors, Caterpillar and Continuous Laminae.
