Andrea Di Stefano is an architect. He studied History and Theory of Architecture at IUAV in Venice and graduated from the Architectural Association in London.
He was curator of the Architectural Section of the Prague Biennale, collaborated with the New York-based BIOTHING, was partner in ACAB in London and Barcelona and was member of OCEAN NORTH.
In 2005 he co-founded AION with Aleksandra Jaeschke and in 2013 became its sole partner.
He was co-winner of “L’Architecture de la Grande Echelle” Research Programme 2008 in France and co-winner of the Amplify’s Urban Resilience Challenge, UK-Ethiopia, 2016.
He taught and was a researcher in Urban Ecologies at the Ecole Speciale d’Architecture in Paris and academic fellow in Materials Technology at the University of Catania.
He lectured and ran workshops in the UK, Norway, Germany, France, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Argentina and Ethiopia. His work has been featured in various publications and international exhibitions such as “27/37 Exhibition of Young Italian Architecture” at the Shanghai Expo 2010, the Buenos Aires International Biennal de Arquitectura in 2011 and the “ARCHITEKTUR!” conference held at the MAXXI Museum in Rome in 2012. In 2013 AION held the solo exhibition “AION: Eco-Machines” in the Wroclaw Museum of Architecture in Poland.
In 2010 he received the Newitalianblood award for one of the TOP 10 Architects Under 40 in Italy and in Poland, in 2011 he was awarded the prestigious Europe 40 Under 40 and in 2015 he was nominated for the Iakov Chernikhov Prize. |  Curriculum Vitae
