We are pleased to announce that Andrea Di Stefano is co-winner of Amplify’s Urban Resilience Challenge. The winning proposal, developed together with M. Assefa, J. Brazil, E. Cabay, R. Machado, J. Mauser and N. Waissbluth, was selected for its “potential to improve the resilience of urban slum communities”.
The Gulit Project aims at reducing waste and improving profits and comfort for market vendors in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, using clay technology of passively-cooled food-storage systems for construction of market stalls.
The project will be supported by IDEO.orgOpenIDEO, the UK Department for International Developmentand the Global Resilience Partnership. The sponsors will also provide technical assistance to bring the idea to life.
